Social Media is becoming more and more popular. With the introduction of social media, the ability to share information, photos, videos and other media has become easier than ever before.
With all of this amazing content available for free on these various platforms, it’s hard to imagine that people would ever pay for them. However, there are many advantages to paying for these services that could outweigh these negative factors.

THERE IS NO SUCH THING AS "FREE SOCIAL MEDIA" > It's an illusion! - Why?
When users subscribe to free social media, they agree to certain terms and submit their personal information to a certain controlled environment; this includes all content you upload, create and share. This varies based on how often a user posts and how intimate those posts are.
Social media platforms do not function without a significant budget. So, all platforms are faced with a difficult proposition that largely rests on a risk - will people pay for social media and if so:
a) for how much, b) for how often? and c) for what features?
Many online articles attempt to tackle the debate, to-date only a few platforms have arguably succeeded. All have attempted a variant of service delivery for a price. Social8 has conducted extensive research to further develop innovative ideas that we feel will deliver premium success.

The term "organic social" simply refers to social media activity without a paid promotion. It may use free social media tools to build, engage and/or communicate with a following online... Versus "paid social" which refers to anything appearing on social media, that is influenced by paid ads.
Social8 has decided to find a middle ground on the suggestion (hence our validation phase and regular pushes for survey information). That position is a private social media platform running on a "subscription > member-only" model that includes three tiers of functionality.
* Starter (free) - similar to common Social Media in how it functions.
* Premium (monthly or annual subscription price) - Add on premium functions.
* Business (monthly or annual subscription price) - Add on business features.

By having a "free" TIER, we ensure that memberships can move up or down without the loss of core data and all data is handled by us per GDPR compliance with just a few partner exceptions of which they are also fully GDPR compliant. The focus is transparently on 'Premium' memberships.
We will not rely on any 'other' public social media platform for service delivery and this is inclusive of all social media activity functions, groups, discussions, forums, content hosting, video hosting and our membership data. We're entirely autonomous and therefore free to set our own policies.
Members are not tracked for revenue-based-ads ("income") on Social8. Advertising can only be placed by members - "Premium" for sponsorship and "Business" for all other ad subscriptions, or affiliates the platform has subscribed to which nominally act as ad-space fillers.

Privacy is addressed by being "members only" and this is further enshrined in having a 'Premium' option versus platforms that do not have this option. A 'Premium' member has validated a level of trust by paying for their subscription and agreeing to the member rules.
Members can easily determine whether the person they are interacting with is a 'Starter' or a 'Premium' member via a badge that is assigned to all members depending on their membership tier. This increases the value of the subscription and that members status on the platform.
Social8 is determined to remain neutral and without bias - this is how all forms of media should be! It's our understanding that media should present or report balanced stories without having an opinion; that is a for the privilege for the participant, the public, or in our case - our members.

Censorship is the effect felt from bias and biased narratives. If a platform strategically aligns its policies and content delivery algorithms to suit and support a particular theme, whilst blocking or shadow-blocking content that opposes that narrative, the opposing content is censored.
This of course can apply to individuals, corporations, political figures and even news outlets. 2019 was not just the beginning of covid as the mainstream-tuned public believed, and that public is learning fast. So, where can one go for content other platforms censor?
And therein our answer... Social8.net
